Provider Notes:
The Valued Visits Program is one of the many programs that Castle has to offer. Circumstances deemed by the court which result in unsupervised visitation being an unacceptable option, can be detrimental to the wellbeing of the child(ren) and the family as a whole. The Valued Visits Program is here to help by offering a supervised visitation option for families.

This program benefits individuals and families who are under a court-mandated visitation schedule. When someone receives a court-ordered visitation mandate, the individual(s) involved are referred to The Valued Visits Program. The referrals usually come from the 19th Circuit Judicial Court System. Those individuals are usually the non-residential parent and the residential parent of the child(ren) involved.

The Valued Visits Program, through CASTLE, provides a safe and nurturing place for non-residential parents to have supervised visitation with their child(ren). The visitation between the non-residential parent and the child(ren) lasts for 1.5 hours and are either weekly or biweekly. Toys and games are provided at each site location for the non-residential parent and child(ren) to use.

Most non-residential parents bring food for the child(ren) while promoting positive communication and activity time between the non-residential parent and child(ren). Healthy, non abusive interactions between the non-residential parent and child(ren) are encouraged and enforced by the Valued Visits Staff.

The visitations are monitored by a well trained, professional Valued Visits Staff Member(Monitor) and a law enforcement officer. Contact between the residential parent and the non-residential parent is not allowed at each site. This is accomplished by the required fifteen minute interval for the drop off and pick up of the child(ren) by the residential parent and the arrival/departure of the non-residential parent.

Our visitation sites are along the Treasure Coast in Martin, Saint Lucie and Indian River Counties which means nearly 1,500 visits take place each year. Fees for The Valued Visits Program are determined by the courts and sometimes can be waived. The Valued Visits Program also offers the Monitored Exchange Service for those who are court ordered for unsupervised visitation.

This service offers a monitored exchange of the child(ren) from the residential parent to the non-residential parent and vice versa in a safe environment within the site locations.
