| As an Independent Child Advocate, C.H.I.L.D. Advocate Agency provides children with information and advice, advocacy, representation and support to ensure their wishes and feelings are heard, understood, and taken seriously by the court, attorney, agency, and parents making decisions for them.
Mrs. Fletcher is solely focused on the child’s views and is able to take all necessary lawful action to assist the child, including supporting him/her to seek legal advice and representation.
CAA's job is not to provide a permanent stable home for the child or children in foster care, but to see that one is provided, and not to assess the family problems and strengths but to see that a thorough assessment is made.
And as Mrs. Fletcher states, “It is not up to me to be the support system for the child/ren but to ensure that a support system is in place”.
CAA services not only include children who have been abused, but also children of family crisis such as divorce, child custody cases, and in need of assistance, support and resources. |
