| Our program is named Hand in Hand. We provide fully supervised contact between parents and children. The Family Resource Center provides a variety of other services that support and strengthen families.
Hand in Hand is a supervised parenting time and safe exchange program. Hand in Hand provides children with safe, conflict-free access to a non-custodial parent or parents.
This service offers an opportunity for the parent and child to regain a connection with one another after a period of separation, try out new ways of relating and to communicate through play. Many types of play equipment are provided to facilitate an enjoyable play experience.
To use this service, each parent must submit an application and complete an orientation, which is an opportunity to become acquainted with the visitation rooms and review guidelines for visits. The guidelines help to provide safety and to increase the likelihood of a good experience for both parent and child.
Applications are available at the Family Resource Center at 120 Main St., Sterling, Colorado or call 970-526-2439.
Circle of Grandparents is a peer lead support group for grandparents who are raising grandchildren. The group meets weekly on Friday mornings at 9:30 A.M. This is an open group which provides support and education and referrals to grandparents.
Family Resource Center is exploring the need for other circles such as circles for adoptive parents and kinship homes or circles for parents of special needs children.
Our phone number is 970-526-2439. |
