The SAFFT Family Life Center is the heartbeat of the organization. It’s a place where families can interact in a safe environment that fosters a spirit of community, creativity and encourages meaningful experiences for all involved.
The new Family Life Center expanded SAFFT’s previous visitation and community center from 2,000 square feet to 10,000 square feet, expanded current capabilities by three times, and we’re now facilitating new programs that go beyond social services.
Families in crisis are part of a generational cycle passed down to children causing decades of child abuse, substance abuse, homelessness, and severe poverty. In partnership with the community and other organizations, SAFFT is covering the family with incredible support to restore them for generational change.
In partnership with the CJCC and federal domestic violence program, SAFFT is operating one of the very few centers of its kind in the state of Georgia. Due to a recently awarded federal grant, SAFFT can now support domestic violence cases that allow for safe visitation services for children and custody exchanges.
In addition, SAFFT’s Family Life Center serves as a crisis center for families that are homeless, in severe poverty, or who have lost custody of their children.
The organization is also working with key social services partners including DFCS, CASA, and the courts to families in need step out of their situation and rebuild their life. This ensures a chance for generational change.
Immediately following The Family Life Center’s grand opening in Forsyth County, SAFFT started preparing a new Dawson County facility to serve Dawson, Hall, and other surrounding counties.
SAFFT will host a separate ribbon cutting ceremony in Dawsonville soon, and will include community open house activities for each. |
