| Families & Youth, Inc. FYI is a non-profit organization founded on April 1, 1977 as a pilot project, Children in Need of Supervision. It became incorporated as CHINS, Inc. on October 1, 1979.
The mission of Families and Youth, Inc. is to promote a safer, healthier community by assisting children and families in strengthening their relationships, preserving the family unit, establishing community partnerships, and enhancing the availability of human resources.
The agency changed its name from CHINS, Inc. to Families & Youth, Inc., October 1987. Jose V. Frietze has served as the Chief Executive Director from the agency’s inception to the present. |
