| McLeod Treatment Programs, Inc. (MTP) embraces the theory that growing up in today's society is more difficult than ever before. The difficulties related to peer pressure, alcohol & illicit drugs, family disintegration, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, neglect, attachment problems, and resultant urban stress are coupled with frequent neurological deficiencies, academic deficiencies, and lack of positive role modeling.
This myriad of problems can only be dealt with by providing a continuum of care that includes 24 hour supervision and support, milieu therapy, individual therapy, psychological services, psychiatric services, medication management, family therapy, and parent education groups as well as supervised family visitation and exchange services.
To accomplish this, MTP operates several small facilities in rural Minnesota communities. These programs are highly structured and team oriented with culturally competent, well-trained, professional staff and therapeutic school settings. At the same time, MTP utilizes settings that promote community education, employment, and involvement.
The MTP philosophy is to treat the whole of the child and family, concentrating on issues of safety, knowledge, choices, respect, trust, and internalization while at the same time being respectful of individual differences and optimizing the self-help skills within each person.
The Visitation Exchange Center is a service offered to community members and MTP families alike. The purpose of the VEC is to provide safe and healthy interactive environments for parents and children to have visits or custodial exchanges.
The families are provided a structured setting for a professionally monitored visit between the child(ren) and adult(s) with visitation rights. The VEC may also provide guidance to those adults who may need assistance in parenting and communication skills.
Visits or Exchanges are scheduled by appointment during VEC hours. There is a nominal fee for VEC exchanges and monitored visits. The VEC offers reduced rates and/or grants to qualified families. |
