| Carol brings to her practice more than 25 years of professional experience, education and training in the child protection/child welfare field where she has served as a clinician, policy maker and trainer. During her tenure with the Colorado Department of Human Services, Carol served as its senior authority on child abuse and neglect.
She is the lead author for the chapter on Family Assessment in Helping in Child Protective Services: A Competency Based Casework Handbook, edited by the American Humane Association and published by Oxford Press in 2004. Carol uses an eclectic, family-centered approach that strives to make the intervention fit the client, not the other way around.
Safety is paramount. Children and youth deserve families that are able to provide them loving support and care. Families deserve support to help assure that happens.
Services available include, but are not limited to, parent-child evaluations and case planning for domestic relations and child welfare cases, including assessment and intervention with co-occurring domestic violence and child maltreatment; Therapeutic/ supervised/ monitored parent-child visitation in a family -friendly environment; Child, adolescent and adult individual therapy; Family therapy; Groups for children, adolescents and parents; Mediation; Consultation and training on methods to achieve / maintain safe family connections for children. |
