| STEPS is a non-profit organization committed to serving our community. STEPS provides a variety of services to assist and strengthen families.
STEPS Family Resource Center is dedicated to strengthening families in the River Valley through Safety, Training, Education, Prevention, and Solutions.
Giving families the resources they need to raise children in a non-violent, healthy, and positive environment is what STEPS is all about.
Both supervised visits and safe exchanges are designed to assure that children can have safe contact with an absent parent without having to be put in the middle of the parents' conflict or other problems. It is the child's need that is paramount in making any decisions regarding the supervision of the visit or the exchange. However, there are also some significant benefits to parents. It is our hope that no one will look upon supervised visitation or exchange as a negative or stigmatized service. It is a tool that can help families as they go through difficult and/or transitional times.
"STEPS Family Resource Center advocates for the rights of children to maintain contact with their parents and significant people in their lives and strives to provide a comfortable, safe, child friendly environment for these visits." |
